In this class we will be covering the basics of photography and how it applies to the commercial publication of the school yearbook.  Students in this class will learn about the elements and principles of art and design and how it applies to taking successful photographs.  Photos generated will be organized in a graphic design platform to structure the finalized yearbook.

To do so, we will be doing a lot of work outside of class time. The documentation of school events (sports, clubs, dances etc.) will be completed by class members (sometimes in groups of 2) and will require taking multiple photographs of one particular event.  Photos will be uploaded to the class folder on Google Drive via the Google Classroom Page.

The content we generate will be edited/constructed using graphics software which means that your computers will be required in class everyday.  If you will be using a digital camera or a phone to take photos, you must supply a cord to connect your device to your Chromebook.

Classwork turned in after the due date will be docked 10%. Any classwork turned in after 1 week from the due date will not be considered for a grade.

Class grades will be based on the following criteria:
Completing tasks/assignments/projects (50 - 150 pts)
Generating content (50 -100 pts)
Generating revenue (50 - 100 pts)

Quizzes and Exams (50 - 100 pts)
Participation (200 pts)

This is a new class for me, PLEASE BE PATIENT as we are all learning together!
