Watercolor Landscapes
Starting with an image found online (and saved to google classroom), we will begin by making a thumbnail sketch on a 1/2 sheet of watercolor paper. Outline any important detail and use this as a practice painting for you final which will be painted on 12x18 paper.
Watercolor paint is meant to be painted on in light layers over top of each other. Begin by painting light "washes" or layers of color, letting those layers dry and painting over to achieve darker and darker colored layers the more you add. Light layers of blue can be layered over light areas of gray to make blue grays. Same with any color. Mix your colors together in a tray and start light, adding layers as you go to increase your layers of detail. Areas that are to remain white should be avoided all together. Experiment on your small practice draft and go all in on the final.
