Animal Hybrids
Develop a ceramic sculpture that is a combination of two distinctly different animals!
Research on the internet different animals which, when combined together, make a unique creature.
Use hand building techniques (coil, pinch,slab) to construct your hybrid creature within a 6" x 4" wide, 6" tall size frame work.
Begin with a large sketch of your figure and how you plan on painting and sculpting the surface (which will be turned in as part of your grade). After a brief discussion with Mr. England about construction, you may begin working with clay.
For this project, the small details are important for making your project believable and will be factored into your grade.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because this project will take multiple days to sculpt, keeping your clay moist in between class periods and over the weekend is CRITICAL. Wet paper towels and the spray bottle should be used to keep the clay damp and sculptable while tightly wrapped up in your plastic bag.
